After we left Southwold we decided to do a little detour and visit a brewery I knew was in the area. St Peter’s in Bungay is a very small brewery compared to the relative giant which is Adnams we saw the previous day. It consisted of a series of small traditional farmhouses adjacent to St Peters Hall which appears to be a restaurant. We popped in the visitors shop where a pleasant lady gave us a little taste of the Black IPA and their cider but we were only there for the Cream Stout.
It seemed a lovely little place to visit and we would have probably gone on the tour if we hadn’t been on one only the day before!
We drank the beer that evening and it was a lovely velvety Stout, we followed it with a forgettable Dark from the Welsh brewer Brains.
